SINGAPORE ZOO & RIVER SAFARI

The Singapore Zoo has been known to have the most beautiful settings in the world, where animals roam freely in open and natural habitats. Covering 26 hectares, the park is home to over 2,800 animals representing over 300 species. It also boasts the world’s first free-ranging orang utan habitat where guests can get a vantage point along a raised boardwalk.

River Safari is designed to profile freshwater habitats from iconic rivers of the world such as the Amazon River, Mekong River and River Nile. Housing one of the world’s largest collections of freshwater animals, visitors can enjoy close encounters with river inhabitants, some of which include river giants and megafishes. It also features the Giant Panda Forest – the house of Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

NIGHT SAFARI

Night Safari is the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals and it is designed to bring visitors through seven geographic regions, from the Himalayan foothills to the jungles of Southeast Asia. Threatened and endangered species such as the pangolin and clouded leopard call the Night Safari home.

JURONG BIRD PARK

Jurong Bird Park is a hillside haven for more than 5,000 birds across 400 species, of which 15% are threatened. The free-flight aviaries mirror the natural habitats of the birds from all over the world. Attractions include the Waterfall Aviary that houses a 30-metre high waterfall, a Penguin Coast and a Pelican Cove.

SUNGEI BULOH WETLAND RESERVE

If you want to take a break from the concrete jungle of the city, head down to this ecological gem where many species call home. Migratory birds, some as far away as Siberia, escaping the cold to the warmer climes of Australia make a pit stop at this reserve. Crabs, mudskippers and mud lobsters can also be found in the natural habitat.

CONEY ISLAND PARK

This is an alternative hidden location that even most locals have not been to, Coney Island Park is great for cycling and bird-watching. Situated off the northeastern coast of Singapore, the park houses a wide variety of habitats, including coastal forests, grasslands, mangroves, and casuarina woodlands.
