That's why we have placed a sustainably crafted "Green Plaque" made from recycled chopsticks next to each bed, encouraging guests to conserve water by reusing towels and linens during their stay, This simple step not only saves water but also reduces the energy required for laundry. All guest rooms and common area bathrooms feature three-tick-rated water-efficient fittings under PUB’s Mandatory Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (MWELS). To minimize energy consumption, guest rooms are illuminated by LED lighting, and air-conditioning is maintained at an energy-efficient temperature.

Sustainability extends beyond the guest rooms. Our food and beverage department uses biodegradable packaging for takeaways and deliveries through our online platform. Staff areas are also designed with sustainability in mind, featuring light and hand basin sensors in the washrooms. The car park is equipped with electric charging stations, and green walls are incorporated into the architecture, offering a touch of nature without requiring water.

As part of our commitment to reducing single-use plastic, we have eliminated plastic water bottles in guest rooms. Instead, each room is equipped with a filtered water tap, providing a convenient and eco-friendly hydration option. Disposable amenities have been replaced with large, eco-friendly dispensers from Savoir-Faire.

In October 2023, Carlton City Hotel Singapore proudly received the prestigious Singapore Hotel Sustainability Award 2023-2024, presented by the Singapore Hotel Association, alongside the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), National Environmental Agency (NEA), PUB, and the Singapore Tourism Board. The hotel has also been certified as a Green Mark Gold hotel since its inauguration, in recognition of its sustainable practices and green innovations. Carlton City Hotel has participated in Earth Hour annually since opening in August 2013.
